Convert WebM to M4A

WebM is the open web video format used by browsers and screen recorders; plenty of editors and apps still expect MP4. M4A (AAC audio) is smaller than MP3 at the same quality and plays natively on Apple devices. Keep just the sound — a talk, a song, an interview.

How it works

  1. 1Upload the WebM video.
  2. 2Open audio extraction and choose AAC (M4A).
  3. 3Download the M4A file.

What you get

MP3 or AAC

MP3 for compatibility with every player, AAC (M4A) for a smaller file.

Then turn it into text

The same recording can go to transcription next, for a text version of everything that was said.

Same result in your code

What you run here is one multipart request over the API, with a webhook when the job is done.

Pay for processing time

One tariff for every operation, capped per file. A failed job is refunded automatically.

Same thing over the API

One header, one multipart request with the file, then poll the job or take a webhook. The same operation you just tried in the browser.

Questions

Is the audio re-encoded?

Yes — the soundtrack is encoded to the format you pick. The default bitrate is meant for everyday listening; speech and music both come through fine.

Is there a size or length limit?

Limits depend on your plan and are listed on the pricing page. A video that is too long is refused up front rather than cut off, and a refused file costs nothing.

Do I need an account?

Small files can be processed without signing up. An account adds a daily free allowance and an API key.

Can I automate it?

Yes. Send the file to the API with service “clipconvert” and operation “extract_audio” with the format aac, then poll the job or take a webhook.
