Convert video to MP4, WebM, MOV or MKV

A file that will not play, will not upload or will not open in your editor usually just needs another container or codec. Convert it here — nothing to install.

How it works

  1. 1Drop the video — MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, AVI or M4V.
  2. 2Choose the target format, and the codecs if you care which.
  3. 3Download the converted file.

What you get

Codecs you choose

H.264, H.265 or VP9 for video; AAC, MP3 or Opus for audio.

Lossless when possible

When the streams already fit the target, “copy” changes only the container: fast, and nothing is re-encoded.

Same result in your code

What you run here is one multipart request over the API, with a webhook when the job is done.

Pay for processing time

One tariff for every operation, capped per file. A failed job is refunded automatically.

Same thing over the API

One header, one multipart request with the file, then poll the job or take a webhook. The same operation you just tried in the browser.

Questions

Which format should I pick?

MP4 with H.264 for anything that has to play everywhere; WebM for websites; MOV for Apple editing tools; MKV to keep several audio or subtitle tracks.

Will converting lose quality?

Re-encoding changes the data a little; the defaults keep it visually close. Choosing “copy” where possible avoids re-encoding entirely.

Do I need an account?

Small files can be converted without signing up. An account adds a daily free allowance and an API key.

Can I automate it?

Yes. Send the file to the API with service “clipconvert” and operation “convert” with the format you want, then poll the job or take a webhook.
