How it works

  1. 1Upload the video or audio.
  2. 2Pick SRT, VTT or ASS.
  3. 3Download the file and import it wherever you edit or publish.

What you get

Timing that matches speech

Cues start and end with the words, split on pauses and sentence ends — no captions lingering over silence.

Subtitle-standard layout

Short lines and at most two per cue by default; over the API you set characters per line, lines, cue length and reading speed.

Works with every editor

Standard SRT and WebVTT that YouTube, Vimeo, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and HTML5 players read as is.

From audio too

MP3 or WAV in, SRT out — handy for podcasts that publish video versions.

Same thing over the API

One header, one multipart request with the file, then poll the job or take a webhook. The same operation you just tried in the browser.

Questions

What is the difference between SRT and VTT?

Both are timed text. SRT is the most widely supported; WebVTT is the format browsers use for HTML5 video. You can request either, or both at once over the API.

Can I edit the text before downloading?

Yes — the studio editor lets you correct words and replace a misheard term everywhere at once.

Can I burn the SRT into the video instead?

Yes, use the subtitles tool: the same captions, rendered onto the picture in one of four styles.

Is there a limit on length?

Limits depend on your plan and are shown before you start.
